Pgh Community Lawns Camp

Pittsburgh Community Lawns Camp

Local partners have come together to offer a special 6-week camp for students ages 16 through 18. This camp will explore the entrepreneurial world of “making” in our surrounding community. Students will work with  Pittsburgh Community Lawns, a project to revitalize underutilized urban spaces by integrating classic (and not-so-classic) games into vacant lots. All partners have combined efforts to provide entrepreneurial expertise, leadership skills, and connections with local businesses.

In this program, students will learn how to:

  • Build a business plan
  • Think and act as a business owner
  • Connect with local start-up companies
  • Operate advanced equipment and tools
  • Prototype and build products
  • Present and pitch ideas
  • Revitalize underutilized urban spaces

Each student will also receive a 12-month TechShop membership ($995 value) to continue future projects.
