Recruiting Teens for Pittsburgh Community Lawns Camp!
Pittsburgh Community Lawns Camp
Local partners have come together to offer a special 6-week camp for students ages 16 through 18. This camp will explore the entrepreneurial world of “making” in our surrounding community. Students will work with Pittsburgh Community Lawns, a project to revitalize underutilized urban spaces by integrating classic (and not-so-classic) games into vacant lots. All partners have combined efforts to provide entrepreneurial expertise, leadership skills, and connections with local businesses.
In this program, students will learn how to:
- Build a business plan
- Think and act as a business owner
- Connect with local start-up companies
- Operate advanced equipment and tools
- Prototype and build products
- Present and pitch ideas
- Revitalize underutilized urban spaces
- Develop Leadership skills
Each student will also receive a 12-month TechShop membership ($995 value) to continue future projects.
