4-H CITY (Citizenship & Innovation Training for Youth)

Explore, Discover, Learn & Lead!

Overview:

4-H CITY has teamed with two long standing grass roots organizations (The Kingsley Association and Nabhi Christian Ministries) to deliver an innovative youth development program geared towards African-American males. The project will primarily involve two neighborhoods, Larimer and Lincoln-Lemington. The ultimate goal of the project is that through practice, participation and mentorship, youth will assume leadership roles in their community and actively engage in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of projects that help uplift their neighborhood. Here are a few of the activities that youth participants will be engaged in:

  • Installation of 4-H Community Clubs
  • African-American history, arts and culture
  • Male Mentorship
  • Leadership and civic engagement
  • Sustainability, architecture and landscape architecture
  • Community Improvement Plans
  • Individual Development Plans
  • Health and wellness
  • Entrepreneurship, education and career exploration
